Discover the World of Chemistry during
GlaxoSmithKline’s Science in the Summer

2009 Chemistry Course Description
Chemistry touches our lives every day, in many ways. Students in Chemistry will learn about kinds of chemical reactions. Students will make a model of a molecule; experiment with common household kitchen food items; explore the density with water and food items, and much more!

Classes are offered for the following grade levels:

• Level I classes are for children entering grades 2-3 (20 students/class maximum).
• Level II classes are for children entering grades 4-5 (20 students/class maximum).
• Level III classes are for children entering grades 6-8 (24 students/class maximum).
  Level III students will perform activities on board one of Morehead Planetarium and
  Science Center’s DESTINY traveling laboratories from UNC-Chapel Hill.
